Welcome to New South Kitchen & Bar where contemporary Southern cuisine meets traditional Southern hospitality.The owners of Dakotas, a long time Charlotte favorite for upscale Southern cuisine, wanted to make great Southern food available to diners every day.After a year of planning and several months of construction we are excited to invite you dine with us in our new digs.Our expanded bar, live entertainment, outside seating & new menu format are just few of the changes our long time regulars and new guests a like are sure to enjoy.

Our food offering are based on simple cooking techniques applied to the freshest, top quality, and when available, local ingredients.Typically, there are 20 entrée offerings nightly with an emphasis on seafood from the Carolinas.We also feature fresh vegetables, hand crafted cheeses, salads & pastas.Our breads and desserts are made in house daily.Dakotas' favorites, Fried Green Tomatoes, Shrimp & Grits and Crab Cakes, have returned as well as a few other Southern staples

The wine list is sure to please any guest, including the connoisseur.Our 40/60, sixty wines under $40, list is an eclectic mix of wines from all over the world.California, Spain & France are well represented as well as local wines from North Carolina & Virginia.We offer an extensive half bottle list and a carefully selected captains' list.
